Malta’s diving is famous for the amazing underwater visibility, warm temperatures and stunning scenery.  Submerged caves, chimneys, arches and tunnels together with breathtaking drop offs and the flourishing marine life make Malta one of the Mediterranean’s most popular dive destinations.

Dive in and discover species typical of Med-diving: groupers, barracudas, octopus, bream, amberjacks. The many wrecks around the coast line have now become home to a host of species, making this trip suitable for a variety of tastes.

When you’re not diving there are many interesting historical monuments to visit.  Malta’s capital city, Valetta, is renowned for the Grand Master’s Palace and the Majestic St. John’s Cathedral. A trip to the ‘Silent City’ of Mdina is also highly recommended. Along with the plentiful beaches, pretty coves and walking and cycling routes, there is plenty to do when not enjoying the under water sites.

Both the dive centre and the apartments are situated in beautiful St Paul’s Bay area in the North of Malta. The apartments are only 100 metres from the dive centre and situated on a quiet street off the main road, but within walking distance to many amenities and the St Paul’s Bay promenade.

Having been designed for divers, the one or 2 bedroom apartments are comfortably equipped with kitchen, sitting/dining area and a bathroom.  Towels for the apartments is supplied and changed every other day.  The building also houses a spacious wet room in the basement to wash and store dive equipment.

We will be provided with a complementary food basket for our first breakfast, which includes water, coffee, tea, milk, cereal, bread, sugar & honey—the perfect start to the week! Meals are to be of your own making for the remainder of the week, or why not eat out at one of the nearby restaurants?

On our first morning, we will be transferred from the Dive Centre, MaltAqua, to the first of our dive sites. MaltAqua is a family run business, with over 40 years experience on the island of Malta and comes highly recommended! Diving will be shore based with many of them being guided.

The Dive Centre offers a large, well stocked shop and are also able to assist with car hire and excursions for non-diving partners.

The 1-week travel package is offered by Regaldive and includes return flights from Manchester to Malta with all transfers with seven nights at the Sands Apartments on a twin share, self catering basis . The dive package is with MaltAqua for 10 guided shore dives, completing 2 dives per day (including cylinders, air fills and weights) and includes transport to the various dive sites around Malta. Use of Enriched air Nitrox, additional dives, an excursion to Gozo, night dives etc. can be added if required.

Finally, New Horizons will provide you with a group leader to ensure a fun and safe trip for all concerned! Courses can be completed at a discounted price, such as Project AWARE, Wreck, Night or Drift diving specialties, so please ask for further details.

Diving will be a mix of wreck and reefs dives off the Maltese coastline. All will be shore dives; returning to the dive centre/apartments between each one may not always be possible. Transfers to & from the dive sites will be arranged by the Dive Centre (MaltAqua).

This trip is ideal for Open Water certified divers and above and is available to all levels of certification.

Malta is the perfect destination for you to continue your PADI diving education.  New Horizons are offering a number of courses, at very special prices, to enable you to become a better diver and get more from your diving on this trip. Examples include:

Open Water completion dives: ONLY £125 (having successfully completed the theory and pool training)

Advanced Open Water course: ONLY £250 (including manual and certification)

Specialty courses: 10% off all specialty course prices (including materials and certification).

Please complete an NHDC booking form along with a deposit of £250 per person payable to Regaldive Ltd (2% credit card surcharge) plus the New Horizons fee of £60. The balance due will be payable 10 weeks before departure.

Divers will need to provide a fit to dive medical certificate signed by a Doctor should they indicate any contraindications on the dive medical self-assessment questionnaire prior to diving.

Holiday and diving insurance is mandatory for all travellers.  If booking as a single person you may have to pay the single supplement—we will try to find a person for you to share with but this cannot be guaranteed

N.B. The deposit of £250 applies to the first 11 people booking. Any subsequent bookings may be subject to additional charges and a higher deposit.

Equipment rental is available from New Horizons for the week. You must take all your personal dive equipment, except tank and weights. Due to the nature of the diving during this week, all divers MUST have dive computers and delayed SMBs with reels. Good quality torches are recommended for exploring wrecks and enjoying night dives (if available).

To go on this trip you must have travel and diving accident insurance. You can book your insurance with Dive Master Insurance through the New Horizons website and save 5%.

Your holiday will be booked with ATOL holder Regaldive, for whom we act as agents. All holiday bookings will be subject to this ATOL holder’s booking conditions, which can be found at www.blueotwo.com/Terms-and-conditions. When a booking and a holiday deposit has been received by New Horizons Dive Centre Ltd, a contract exists between you and the ATOL holder, Regaldive, once New Horizons Dive Centre Ltd issues a confirmation of booking. The client copy of the ATOL holder’s confirmation will be sent to you on request.

New Horizons Dive Centre Ltd will provide your own group dive and holiday leader to organise dives, provide expertise and to run courses as required. The services of this leader and the gear rental available from New Horizons Dive Centre Ltd are the responsibility of New Horizons Dive Centre Ltd and are provided under a separate contract. These arrangements will be confirmed by us.
