Farnes Review; April 2019
Farne Islands Trip Review - April 2019 Report from Lisa, images courtesy of Keith Chapman and Joanna Scott; reproduced with kind permission. Farne Islands – a group of rocky islands at the Northumberland Coast - is a wonderful place to visit for all nature lovers. These islands are most famous for their Atlantic grey seals and numerous species of seabirds. And for us, that is also a great diving destination that offers loads of amazing boat diving spots with rich marine life. This trip was my second diving trip to the Farne Islands. I enjoyed our autumn trip so much that was very happy to go and dive there again. I knew that the chance of seeing grey s...Read More
Philippines - Dive Day 3
Written by Sammi Mills (on her phone, so please forgive any typos). Not sure who gets photo credits this time. Philippines 2019 - Dive Day 3 On day three the dive society headed out to dive three dives, we headed across the water to Zack’s cove, a hard coral garden. Going down on the wall we saw a green frogfish, hiding perched on a piece of coral. A few metres away a large reef octopus was also hiding on the reef. There were lots of different nudibranchs of all different colours and sizes, it really is a nudi lovers dream. The second dive today was at a gorgeous dive site. Pristine yet ancient hard corals for as far as the eye could see populated the area spann...Read More

Philippines 2019 - Dive day 2 Once again the New Horizons Dive Society headed out on the boat in the Philippines. The boat headed across the water to Santa Pas. Santa Pas is a dive site where a reef slopes down to a sandy bottom and a short swim away is a pinnacle. The pinnacle is covered in huge corals which makes it very picturesque. This site boasts magnificent nudibranchs, spiny devilish, tassled scorpion fish and coral grouper. After a short surface interval and a cup of tea or coffee dive two was briefed. The briefing rated this next dive, Na...Read More
