NHDC & The PADI Master Seal Team Course

  • Protect What You Love
    • We focus on buoyancy and trim a lot in our courses – way beyond the requirements. This fundamental skill takes time to master, but by the time you’re ready to progress to open water dive sites, you will be a buoyancy expert!
    • You will be confident, competent and safe while also protecting the environment any time you dive.
  • Our Community
    • We are family friendly and specialise in children’s courses. We’ve got equipment specifically for youngsters to keep them comfortable and warm.
    • We are passionate that Scuba Diving is a sport for everyone and anyone! We use ‘adaptive teaching’ methods for all our divers. Our course structure means you’ll have the time, space and confidence to relax and enjoy becoming a qualified diver.
    • We’re a small and friendly team who will strive to help make you feel welcome as soon as you get in touch or step through the door.
    • We are the only Dive Centre in the north of the UK to have been trained by Deptherapy, a unique and special charity we’re proud to support.
  • Let’s Go Diving
    • We help divers achieve their goals; we’ll adapt our methods so you don’t have to!
    • We value all our customers and strive to give each one the best customer service you’ve ever experienced
    • Once qualified, you’ll soon want to join us on more dives and social events.

What Will I Do?

Knowledge Development

Using the PADI Seal Team activity pack you obtained during the PADI Seal Team course, you’ll progress through the book completing ten Specialty Aquamissions. Once again, the sections are full of fun and games so you’ll know what’s coming!  This will be reviewed before getting into the water so your instructor can answer any questions before putting the theory into practice in the pool.

The emphasis is on fun with lots of fun puzzles and games to help introduce the specialist skills in a fun way.

Skills Practice

This is what you’ve been waiting for – the pool sessions! Over the course of 10 pool sessions you’ll complete the PADI Master Seal Team ‘Aquamissions’ gradually learning new specialist scuba diving skills while playing and having loads of underwater fun!

Each pool session will last approximately 1.5 hours (in water) allowing plenty of time to enjoy yourself with your fellow Master Seal Team buddies.

The PADI Master Seal Team Aquamissions are spread over the year so there isn’t too great a burden on your time.

Can I Learn to Dive?

Course Pre-Requisites

There aren’t very many pre-requisites; almost anyone can sign up to keep diving!

  • Min Age: 8 years old
  • Medically Fit: Complete this Medical Statement and have a GP countersign it if required.
  • Ability: You will need to be a PADI Seal Team member.
What Equipment Will I Use?

We’ll provide everything you need. We pride ourselves on ensuring there are no hidden costs.

You’ll be able to use our Scuba Diving equipment including breathing apparatus (regulators), cylinders, fins, mask, snorkel and wetsuit. If you have your own already from the PADI Seal Team course there’s no problem using that instead – we want you to be comfortable while you’re with us – but there’s no obligation to have your own equipment.

When it’s needed, we’ll also provide specialist equipment including compasses, cameras, sea scooters, lift bags and much, much more!

When Can I Learn to Dive?

We offer a total of 15 hours in the pool, spread over 10 pool sessions.  Each pool session lasts up to 3 hours (with up to 1.5 hours ‘in water’) and take place on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon at Macclesfield or Congleton Leisure Centres.

With one pool session arranged per month, we try not to be too big a burden on your time.

New Horizons aims to be flexible with arranging Aquamissions to suit your schedule so if the scheduled dates are not convenient, or you’d like to complete an Elite or Executive course option, please give us a call to discuss suitable alternatives.

How Can I Reserve My Place?

Let us know you want to join us! Simply send us a Course Booking Form and completed Medical Statement. Once we’ve received your deposit we’ll issue your course materials, so you can get started straight away!

Get in touch for our bank account details or to make payment over the phone.

Your place will be confirmed on receipt of the Course Medical Statement (Countersigned by a GP if required). Please note, we will not be able to start any in water activities without one!
