Missing a dive due to minor issues with your scuba diving equipment can be frustrating, whether it’s because of a missing o-ring, wetsuit tear or a broken fin strap.

Through the PADI Equipment Specialist course you’ll learn how to manage basic repairs and adjustments. You’ll find out more about how your gear works, making you more comfortable with it and better prepared to take care of your investment.

Following some ‘self study’ you’ll complete at home, you’ll meet the NHDC team to review your theory before getting on with the fun bits! This is a classroom based course, giving you the opportunity to handle different types of equipment.

Practical activities include assembly of a spare parts kit, care and maintenance of dive suits, stripping and cleaning masks and the functioning parts of a regulator.

You’ll learn about routine care and maintenance procedures as well as scuba equipment storage recommendations. Your instructor will show you how to overcome some common equipment problems and offer equipment configuration suggestions. You may even get to jump into the pool to try new, repaired or unfamiliar equipment.
