As part of the EFR Care for Children Course, you’ll complete some Knowledge Development before you meet the NHDC Team at their classroom. This will be reviewed before the rewarding bit starts!
Through a series of workshops and scenarios, you’ll practice how to assess a scene, triage a victim and administer CPR. You’ll develop skills in assessing young patients displaying symptoms of shock, spinal injuries or have serious bleeding.
Not every medical emergency is immediately life threatening. You’ll also learn how to administer first aid to ease pain, assess a variety of injuries and illnesses and practice bandaging and splinting.
The course is a combination of knowledge development, skill development and realistic scenario practise to make sure you have the understanding and confidence to use your skills if ever the need arises.
