RNLI Diver Sea Survival
This PADI course has been developed in consultation with the RNLI. This course will develop your skills and knowledge to be better prepared when diving in the sea, particularly in the UK or dive sites with low visibility. This fun and interactive course will increase your confidence and comfort when diving at sea.
This certification will give you the confidence to dive in a range of environments and counts towards your Master Scuba Diver rating.
During the course of a day, you will complete the Knowledge Development with your instructor before completing two dives in a single day. You will develop your skills in a range of aspects, including:
- Pre-dive planning
- Buddy procedures
- Equipment selection & checks
- Use of delayed surface marker buoys
- Effective surface positions when in an emergency
Course Duration & Schedules
Following a classroom based Knowledge Development session, you will complete your two open water dives at Capernwray (near Lancaster) over a single day. Open Water dives are currently scheduled on the following dates:
- July: Sunday 22nd
- November: Saturday 17th
New Horizons aims to be flexible with arranging courses to suit your schedule. Please contact us to book on to one of the scheduled dates or to arrange an alternative to suit you (small supplements may apply for midweek sessions).
Please note, if you have no prior experience diving in a drysuit you will need to complete a pool based orientation session prior to participation at Capernwray.

PADI Open Water Diver certification (or equivalent).
Minimum age: 12 years old.
Medical: You need to be in good health and reasonably fit, all students will need to fill in a PADI Medical Statement prior to participation.

Please complete a Course Booking Form (which may be downloaded and returned as an email attachment) and Medical Statement (which must be printed and completed by hand), returning the statement to us by post, in person or as a scanned copy. We will confirm your place on the course once we have received the completed forms.
Please return both forms to us no later than 2 weeks before your preferred course start date.
