PADI Peak Performance Specialty

The Course

Buoyancy control is the most important skill for any diver to perfect, you will immediately feel more comfortable in the water and your air consumption will improve. In the PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy specialty your instructor will help you develop your key buoyancy skills. You will learn about equipment configuration, correct weighting as well as advanced underwater control. During two open water dives you will have the opportunity to develop these skills. This is an essential course for all divers and in particular for anyone considering underwater photography or wreck diving.

This certification will allow you to be in control of your diving and counts towards your Master Scuba Diver rating.

Course Outline

After some self study using the PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy manual you will complete a total of two dives, in a single day, with your PADI instructor.

During your two Open Water dives you will learn how to weight yourself correctly, hover motionless in various positions, streamline yourself, move more comfortably through the water with less energy and improve your air consumption.

If the Peak Performance Buoyancy adventure dive was completed as part of your Advanced Open Water course, this dive can count as one of the two required dives, with only one additional dive required to complete the specialty course.
